| Why the "Pioneer" theme? | In the history of the United States, a pioneer was often a person who left the "old world" for a home and a new life in the "new world". This is supposed to be what happens when a person becomes a Christian. The classic book "Pilgrim's Progress" also describes a journey to escape the clutches of a world hostile to Jesus so that we can arrive at our destination which is Christian maturity and Christ-likeness. | ||
| What we are trying to "sell". | Over the centuries many people have added on to Christianity. Often cherished traditions are elevated to equivalency with Biblical truth. We have found it advantageous to use truth like a scalpel. If you cut away what people have added to Christianity, you find something of great value. We urge all, but particularly those with bad Christian and church experiences to give Christianity a "second chance". If you strip away denominations, financial and real estate holdings, franchise branding, technical jargon, and classroom and factory like processing, you can find what made Christianity grow under even the most adverse conditions, Jesus. | ||
